The latest Canadian bank to migrate from magnetic stripe banking cards to EMV is
Home Trust Company, which focuses on consumers who don’t meet the lending
criteria of traditional financial institutions. Gemalto is providing it with

Instant artwork in Mexico
Banco del Bajio has chosen to use
Gemalto’s Allynis
Instant Artwork solution. This will enable the Mexican bank to order small
quantities of smart payment cards with the artwork of their choice. Manuel
Duvignau López Portillo of Banco del Bajio says: “Gemalto’s solution helps us handle customized artwork and
demand for smaller batches, reinforcing our competitiveness in the market.”

The number of Postcard GoGreen cards Deutsche Post DHL has
issued to its enterprise customers in Germany since June. Postcard
GoGreen, the world’s first bio-sourced payment card, is supplied by
Gemalto. It’s made from a renewable material – derived from corn,
sugar cane and potato starch – that is easy to recycle and compost
and reduces the ecological footprint of the production process.
Businesses use the cards to pay to mail letters and packages, and
for express deliveries.

Zitouna offers something different
Consumers in Tunisia can now open a bank account and leave the
branch with their new payment card in their hand, ready to be used.
Zitouna Bank has deployed
Gemalto’s Dexxis Instant Issuance solution so that it can offer
on-the-spot EMV card personalization in all its branches. Zitouna
was only launched in 2009, and the introduction of instant card
issuance is part of its marketing strategy to differentiate it from
its more established competitors.
