Philippe Vallée has held his current position since September 2016.  Prior to this he was the Company's Chief Operating Officer, with operational responsibility for all the Company's businesses (from January 2014 to August 2016), and EVP of Gemalto Telecommunications Business Unit ( from 2007 to-2013). He previously served Gemplus then Gemalto, in a number of roles including various Product and Marketing management roles; SVP Marketing and then President of the Telecom BU, Chief Technology Officer. Besides France, Philippe has served several assignments in Hong Kong and Singapore. Philippe has over 25 years' experience in the Telecom industry. As the Gemalto COO, he supervises all company Business Groups for Product, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing and Information Systems functions.

He began his career with Matra Communication (now Lagardère Group) as a product manager on the first generation of GSM mobile phones. Philippe has a degree in Engineering (Telecom and Microelectronics) from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble and is a graduate of the ESSEC Business School​.

Paul Beverly  

Serge Barbe​

Serge Barbe has held his current position since February 2017. In this role he is in charge of driving and implementing technology strategies across the company. He previously served as SVP Payment, Embedded Software and Products (2013-2016) and SVP Payment, Products and Services (2008 -2012), working with all major payment issuers worldwide, and as R&D Director (2000-2008).  Prior to this, Serge was part of the Schlumberger management team in charge of the Transit Ticketing System (known today as Parkeon) which he began ex nihilo in 1993. During that period, Serge served all major European transportation authorities (SNCF, Deutch Bundesbahn…) and several urban transport authorities (RATP, London Croydon Tram…) with complex systems that featured IT solutions, embedded systems, electronic ticketing and electronic payment structures.  

Serge holds an Electrical Engineering degree from INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) Lyon.

Eke Bijzitter

Eke Bijzitter has held her current position since January 2014. Prior to this she was Group Corporate Counsel and Deputy Company Secretary of Gemalto (2005-2013). Before joining Gemalto she held different positions as corporate counsel in the Netherlands. Eke Bijzitter is a graduate in law from the University of Groningen and a postgraduate in Corporate Structures from the Grotius Academie.

Philippe Cabanettes has held his current position since 2006. Prior to this he was VP Human Resources for Axalto (2004-2006); Director of Personnel for Schlumberger's Volume Products business (2001-2004) and Director of Personnel for Schlumberger's Resources Management Services division (1997-2001). He previously held various positions with worldwide responsibility for Human Resources in the petroleum, industrial and services sectors of the Schlumberger group, and was based in France, Italy and the US. He has served as President of PartnerJob.com, a non-profit, cross-industry organization facilitating Dual Career management since 2002. Philippe is a graduate from Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris ("Sciences-Po") and holds a Master in Economics from Université de Paris X.

Philippe Cambriel

Philippe Cambriel has held his current position since February 2017. Prior to this he was President, Europe, Mediterranean and CIS (2014-2017) and Executive Vice-President of Secure Transactions (2007-2014) at Gemalto. Following the merger of Axalto and Gemplus in 2006, Philippe managed the Banking & Security Product Line, before which he served as Vice-President of Smart Cards for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (2003-2006) and Vice-President of e-Transaction Cards (2001-2003) at Schlumberger. Philippe has held various other management positions over the years including Chief Officer, Sales and Marketing at Bull CP8, General Manager for IPC France and various sales and marketing positions at Compaq in France in Germany. He began his career at Aerospatiale in 1983. Philippe is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (Sup'Aéro) and holds an MBA from INSEAD​​.

Sébastien Cano

Sébastien Cano has held his current position since 2016 and has reported to the CEO since 2017. Based in Austin, Texas, he leads Gemalto's Enterprise & Cybersecurity Business Unit and drives the strategy for the company's industry-leading SafeNet Authentication, Encryption, and Software Monetization solutions. Previously, he served as President of Gemalto North America (2014-2016), responsible for all business operations across the region, and before that he managed the company's Telecommunications Business Unit in North America for five years. During these two previous assignments, he led the transformation of Gemalto into a leading provider of software, solutions and services to Fortune 500 Corporations.  Prior to these positions, he served Gemalto in a number of leadership roles including SVP Convergence Business Group in France, VP of Operations in Brazil during the country's EMV migration and General Manager of the Telecommunications Business Unit for southern Europe.

Sébastien has a master's degree in Technology Management from Grenoble École de Management.

Jean-Pierre Charlet

Jean-Pierre Charlet has held his current position since 2005. Since January 2014 he has also taken responsibility for Risk Prevention and Management.

Prior to this he was General Counsel of Rexel (2003-2005), Deputy General Counsel of Sanofi-Synthélabo (1999-2002), and General Counsel of Synthélabo (1996-1999).

From 1981 to 1996 he held positions within the Legal Departments of Carnaud-Metalbox, PPR group, Schlumberger group and Société Métallurgique Le Nickel-SLN. ​Jean-Pierre was admitted to the Bar in Paris in 1974 where he began his career in various law firms.

Jean-Pierre holds a Master in Law from Université de Paris X and a Master of Comparative Law from Georgetown University in Washington D.C​.

Bertrand Knopf

Bertrand Knopf has held his current position since 2017. Prior to this he was SVP Banking and Payment, North America (2014-2016). He previously held various positions for Axalto, then Gemalto in a number of areas including Sales, Marketing, R&D and Operations, and was based in France, South Africa, Germany and the US. He served across various industry segments including Telecom and IoT, and has nearly 20 years' experience in the Banking and Payment industry.

Bertrand began his career with Schlumberger, in Oilfield Services (in Nigeria) and in Electricity Metering (in the UK).

Bertrand has a degree in engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure de Techniques Avancees (ENSTA) and is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris ("Sciences-Po").

Isabelle Marand has held her current position since January 2014. Prior to this she was VP Corporate Communications (2010-2013) and VP Branding and Internal Communications (2006-2010) for Gemalto. Isabelle previously headed Axalto's communications department (2003-2006) and spent seven years in different marketing communications positions within Schlumberger. Before this she held various marketing and communications positions at Alcatel Business Systems (1989-1996). Isabelle Marand is a graduate from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce d'Amiens (Master in Management) and holds a degree in foreign languages from la Sorbonne Nouvelle University.

Martin McCourt

Martin McCourt has held his current position since 2017. Since 2007 he has been in charge of Strategy and M&A for Gemalto executing over 30 acquisitions. From 2014-2016 he also held responsibility for Research and Development, Innovation, IP and Purchasing. He was previously President of Asia for Gemalto (2005-2007) and before that had spent 20 years with Corning Inc in R&D, sales and marketing, strategy and M&A roles, most recently heading the worldwide Project Services business for Corning Cable Systems. Martin has a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, a PhD in Integrated Optics from the Institut National Polytechnique in Grenoble and a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin. Martin sits on the Board of Directors of Trustonic, Gemalto's JV with ARM.

Jacques Tierny

Jacques Tierny has held his current role since 2007. Before that he was head of the Valuation and Strategic Finance practice for KPMG Corporate Finance in Paris. Jacques was previously Group CFO and later Executive Deputy General Manager for the retail group Casino (2003–2006). He had earlier spent 23 years in different finance positions at Michelin, later becoming Group Deputy CFO. Jacques began his career as a commodity broker. He graduated in 1977 from the HEC School of Management in Paris, and also from the International Management Program from the MBA of New York University and the Mestrado from Gétulio Vargas in São Paulo. Jacques also taught Corporate Finance at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) and other business schools, and is a member of the board of the French investment fund Sicav LCL Obligations Euro​.

Frédéric Trojani

Frédéric Trojani has had full responsibility for Gemalto's Government business since 2014 and has reported to the CEO since 2017. Under his guidance, Gemalto has achieved a leadership position in the secure identity market, with more than 100 client references worldwide. Prior to this, Frédéric served as Senior Vice President (SVP), Government Programs. His responsibilities included devising a strategic vision for Gemalto within the public sector and overseeing development of the full range of products, solutions and services. He spent five years in Finland (2006-2011) leading the successful integration of Setec Oy into the Gemalto Security Business Unit following the company's acquisition. In more than 30 years with the company, Frédéric has served in a variety of capacities at Schlumberger, Axalto and now Gemalto, including SVP Public Sector and Transport, SVP Marketing and Development and SVP/Managing Director, Telecom Systems & Solutions. As French Foreign Trade Advisor for Finland, Frédéric has helped foster business relationships between French and Finnish companies. He is also the Chairman of the Secure Identity Alliance (SIA) which helps governments to build and to roll out eGovernment Services​.

Frédéric holds degrees in engineering, physics and signal processing from L'Institut de Chimie et de Physique Industrielle (ICPI).

Emmanuel Unguran

Emmanuel Unguran has held his current position since 2017. Prior to this he served as SVP of Manufacturing, Quality & Security (2005-2016), with responsibility for ensuring the efficiency and quality of Gemalto's manufacturing processes. In 20 years with the company, Emmanuel has held various management positions in France and Mexico notably Director of Operations in EMEA (2004-2005), R&D and Manufacturing Director (2003-2004), Director of Manufacturing, Americas (1999-2003), Engineering Manager (1997-1999). Emmanuel began his career in 1987 working in the Industrial and Automotive industries. He graduated with a Degree in Metallurgy from ENSAM (Ecole Nationale des Arts et Metiers) and completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD.

Frédéric Vasnier

Frederic Vasnier has held his current position since 2017. In this role, he is in charge of Mobile Platforms, IoT and Mobile Embedded Software and Products worldwide. He previously managed Embedded Software & Products for Mobile and Payment. In 17 years with Gemalto, he has held various positions in Singapore and France including Head of Telecom for Asia and managing the company's SIM business. He served as the SIMalliance Chairman for several years and was a Board Member of Singapore's National Research Foundation (NRF). Prior to joining Gemalto, Frederic worked in the Mobile Phone Division at Alcatel-Lucent. Frederic holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Ecole Supérieure de Technologie Electrique and has a Master of Science in Telecom from the University of Surrey (UK) as well as an Executive MBA.
