The Internet has brought tremendous change to Business and Governments are close observers of the evolution of business practises. They see opportunities for modernizing the way they deliver services, as well as facing demands for more flexibility and reactivity from their constituents. Citizens are also benefiting from on-line and electronic services in their daily lives, and they too are asking governments to modernize.
Some early pioneers in this realm have seen promising results, and while the e-government world is still establishing a structure, there is a clear place for ID and the e-ID card in particular as a mean of accessing new services.
This month's focus takes a look at the current state of e-government. If you are involved in e-government programs, we encourage you especially to contact us to receive our White Paper, e-Government 2.0, produced with the support of the World e-Democracy and Electronic Administration Forum in October 2007.
