
Making EMV happen
Global reach is a key strength as more and more countries adopt
EMV (the
Europay, MasterCard, Visa standard). Gemalto's network of over 80
partners and 20 banking card personalization centers worldwide provides
the responsive local service for rapid roll-out in new markets.
Gemalto has recently assisted the Royal Bank of Scotland in its
migration to EMV cards in three Asian markets - Indonesia, Taiwan, and
India. The first project, in India, began six months ago and was
completed in three months, about half the time normally required.

Contactless technology on the go!
Daily travelers in hundreds of large cities around the world enjoy the
freedom of
e-tickets to board buses, tramways and trains. Gemalto
supplies
contactless cards to numerous mass transit projects, but also
end-to-end personalization and distribution services as recently
illustrated in Singapore.

e-citizenship for youngsters
Belgium has embraced a digital revolution since 2003 with the deployment
of a vast national
ID program.
So far, over 8 million Gemalto
Sealys
eID cards have successfully been issued on the Belgium market. To
ensure children's safety, the Belgian government has now announced the
expansion of its national eID initiative to youngsters. The new
program consists of a dedicated
Kids-ID card for the under 12-s.
It features ID information as well as specific functions intended to
increase children's security in emergency situations.
