Thanks to Gemalto CarbonNeutral service, our customers can put action on climate change at the heart of their business strategy.

Why is this an important issue for Financial Services and Retail? Because given all the Gemalto markets and offerings, this is one of the areas where packaging and the actual card body will play a growing role in the future for our customers' success. Banking cards or Transport cards are very personal objects that are fully part of people's daily lives. These are a fantastic marketing and communication tool for the Banks, the Mass Transit Operators, the Retailers or the Pay TV Operators. Beyond the services they actually deliver, consumers will expect such cards to be nice looking, personalized with a choice of design and features, and eco-friendly.

We anticipate changes in consumers' behavior toward their cards-mate: rather than one single payment card with a 2 year validity, we foresee new Banks services pushed via their web portals where the end-user mayselect a package offer with the possibility of changing cards 2, 3, or 4 times during that 2 year time frame. The card body will match the individual's mood, taste, trends and habits.
