SLP InfoWare Announces Siebel Validation SLP InfoWare Successfully Integrates its P-CRM Solution With Siebel eCommunications

Luxembourg, 9 September 2001 - SLP InfoWare, a Gemplus Company (Euronext: Sicovam 5768 and Nasdaq:GEMP), a provider of Predictive CRM (P-CRM) solutions, today announced that Siebel Systems has validated the integration between the company’s Churn/CPS™, UpSell/CPS™, XSell/CPS™, and BadDebt/CPS™ applications and Siebel eCommunications. Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL) is the world’s leading provider of eBusiness applications software.

Siebel eCommunications is a comprehensive suite of eBusiness applications designed specifically for the communications and media industry. These applications allow organizations to manage, synchronize, and coordinate customer interactions across all customer touchpoints, including the Web, call center, field, and distribution channels.

With this validation, customers of Siebel Systems and SLP InfoWare can now quickly and cost-effectively deploy an integrated solution to provide real-time predictive profiling information and action recommendations. The combination of SLP InfoWare’s Predictive CRM platform and Siebel eCommunications enables organizations to better predict and manage customer behavior such as a customer’s likelihood to churn, accept up-sell and cross-sell opportunities, or become a bad debt risk.

Using the integrated solution, service providers can deliver accurate and effective offers to retain their customers through the automatic transformation of data into actionable predictive knowledge based on real-time behavioral analysis. This knowledge is distributed throughout the enterprise to maximize the effectiveness of push/pull customer interactions, so that predicted behaviors can be influenced to develop customer loyalty, increase customer lifetime value, and improve return on investment.

“Siebel Systems’ outstanding technology and market leadership have significantly impacted the way companies interact with their customers,” said Jerome Nadel, Corporate VP Marketing Intelligence and Communications of Gemplus. “With the addition of SLP InfoWare’s complementary capabilities, Siebel Systems’ customers can further optimize their customer interactions by leveraging the predictive knowledge built in the P-CRM platform to provide the most effective online recommendations.”

The SLP InfoWare integration with Siebel eCommunications contains graphical components embedded in the application views that provide behavior predictions and recommendations. Recommendations are computed in real time through XML over HTTP requests into SLP InfoWare’s Customer Knowledge Hub™, which transparently and automatically fulfills the received requests, using SLP InfoWare’s Knowledge Base Reasoning System™ technology.

“The integration of Siebel eCommunications with SLP InfoWare’s Predictive CRM platform provides best-in-class technology built upon compatible architectures with a common enterprise scope,” said Michael Straub, Alliances Technical Director at Siebel Systems. "This is a powerful and seamless solution that allows companies to efficiently build and maintain customer relationships in real time.”

Siebel Systems forms alliances with proven technology leaders to deliver tangible business benefits throughout the enterprise. The Siebel Validation Program applies rigorous technical scrutiny to evaluate and document integrated third-party solutions. By choosing Siebel eBusiness Applications and validated partner solutions, Siebel Systems’ customers can pursue a best-in-class software acquisition strategy and quickly deploy the very best solution available.
