Gemplus demonstrates innovative smart card solutions at CeBit 2001
Your Passport to the Digital Age
Hannover, 20 March, 2001 - Gemplus, the world's leading provider of smart card based solutions, is demonstrating its highlights at this year's CeBIT 2001. Come along to the Gemplus stand B12 in hall 23, to see how Gemplus will be driving smart technology forward.
In the field of telecommunications, Gemplus will be demonstrating its 3rd Generation USIM platform, GemXplore 3G. Gemplus clearly leads the 3rd generation smart card evolution as is evident by its leading role in the Asian market where 3G will be first deployed. When European operators are ready to launch their 3G services, they will not only benefit from Gemplus' proven platforms and solutions but also Gemplus' experience in launching 3rd Generation networks.
In the field of security for corporate networks, Gemplus will be demonstrating the integration of personalised smart card security with Gemplus to Lotus Notes/Domino. The Smart Card for Domino combines the Lotus Notes/Domino environment built in public key infrastructure (PKI) with smart-card lifecycle management, including issue, cancellation and renewal for users. The Smart Card for Domino includes software add-ons, smart cards and readers plus consulting services.
Gemplus is also the partner of the banks and financial institutions for their EMV migration, offering products, services and consulting demonstrated on the booth. In the absence of international interoperability, fraud continues to significantly affect card transactions. That is why Europay, Mastercard and Visa are pushing the banks towards adopting EMV standards. In 2005 EMV migration should be over in Europe and Gemplus will be accompanying it all the way.
Another highlight will be a demonstration of Gemplus' GemUtilities concept. This application is designed to simplify personal access to favourite Internet sites and provide "one click" convenience through intelligent form filling. GemUtilities is a perfect marketing tool for the new economy.
Senior Gemplus spokespeople like Jürgen Kempe, General Manager Gemplus Central and Eastern Europe, will be available for interviews at the Gemplus booth. Appointments can be made at the contact below.
Gemplus partners are completing the offer of smart card based solutions.
BGS Smartcard Systems AG shows DUET, a universal platform for electronic payment transactions from the customer to the bank.
ComArch Software AG is on show with TYTAN, a Telecom/eCommerce platform
Fischer Electronicsysteme GmbH demonstrates GeldKarte card readers and card dispensers especially for vending machines.
In our presentation area on the booth, there will be live demonstrations every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. given by companies such as Brodos, Lotus, Realtime, SLP Infoware (lately acquired by Gemplus) along with Gemplus on all subjects around the world of smart solutions.
So don't miss the Gemplus stand to see the highlights outlined here and much more!
