Valicert and Gemplus Enter Multi-industry Agreement, Enhancing Wireless Security Infrastructure
Leading Smart Card Solutions Provider and ValiCert Demonstrate Interoperability of Their Mobile Commerce Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2001
Mountain View, Calif., March 20, 2001 - ValiCert, Inc. (NASDAQ: VLCT), a premier provider of trust solutions for business transactions and GemplusÒ S.A. (NASDAQ:GEMP), the world's leading smart card solution provider, today announced a multi-industry agreement to combine ValiCert m-Commerce ExpressÔ with Gemplus' wireless services and products. With this agreement, ValiCert Validation Authority™ (VA) and ValiCert Digital Receipts Solutions™ will be validating transactions secured by GemXplore™ Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards with on-board key generations, providing wireless carriers with solutions that are compliant with digital signature laws and enable secure transactions and non-repudiation. This combined solution, once completed, will strengthen legal-grade validation and receipting services in the mobile commerce market.
