and Loyalty Campaigns
- Gemplus commercially launches GemSuite InTouch,
the latest addition to Gemplus' Predictive-CRM (P-CRM) Suite
- GemSuite InTouch, co-designed and deployed by TMN,
demonstrates immediate improvements in the acquisition and loyalty of
customers
- Portuguese operator TMN deploys GemSuite InTouch
to improve its acquisition and loyalty programme
Gemenos, France, October
29, 2002 - Gemplus (NASDAQ: GEMP), the world's leading provider of
smart card solutions, announced today the availability of GemSuite InTouch,
a new offer in Gemplus' Predictive CRM Suite. Designed in conjunction
with TMN, the mobile telecommunications arm of Portugal Telecom (NYSE:
PT; BVL: PTCO.IN), GemSuite InTouch allows the control, simulation, automation
and measurement of acquisition and loyalty campaigns.
Deployed as either part of the Gemplus
P-CRM suite of applications, or as a standalone, GemSuite InTouch can
increase the value of existing P-CRM modules such as GemSuite Churnä
(previously Churn/CPS) and help operators in two important phases of the
customer lifecycle: acquisition and loyalty. In the acquisition phase
for instance, potential market segments can be defined according to customers'
social-professional profiles, geographical residence and age. The automation
process can manage all steps of the creation, execution and tracking,
process to create "routine" campaigns, which launch themselves
automatically. For example, loyalty campaigns can be timed around customers'
birthdays, whereas the "control" feature keeps track of campaign-related
activities and costs.
GemSuite InTouch is designed to be a flexible and effective, yet easy-to-use
campaign management tool, allowing automatic repetition and extension
of routine campaigns. It also simplifies previously complicated processes,
for example, it replaces Structured Query Language (SQL) requests with
a graphical drag and drop type functionality.
"We enjoyed significant success in controlling our customer churn
rate through using GemSuite Churn. So, when our efforts progressed
to improving the productivity of our acquisition and loyalty campaigns,
we turned to Gemplus and worked together to develop GemSuite InTouch,"
explained Fernando Querido, Director, Services and Prices Management,
TMN. "Building on our existing GemSuite P-CRM application, GemSuite
InTouch allows us to benefit from the same cost control, process automation
and measurable return on investment that we use for predictive retention
campaigns."
Bringing together Gemplus' P-CRM expertise and TMN's field experience,
the two companies co-designed GemSuite InTouch over a period of six months.
The product development concluded with TMN beta testing the solution during
the summer, in order to be fully operational by September, at a period
when TMN marketers fully resume their loyalty campaigns activity.
"Partnering with TMN was a great opportunity to identify the clients'
needs and respond with a solution that meets most network operators campaign
management requirements. . Both TMN and Gemplus are pleased with the result,"
said Alain Amariglio, VP R&D Predictive CRM, Gemplus. "GemSuite
InTouch is a scalable and flexible application which addresses operator's
CRM needs for running acquisition and loyalty campaigns at low cost and
with measurable returns."
GemSuite InTouch is readily available to operators globally from 15th
September 2002.
