Overview
Service Designer Suite is a tool to facilitate the development
of value added services and the deployment via Gemalto LinqUs
Service Manager. This tool offering a user friendly environment for
service development, testing, simulation and deployment into real
card. Service portals, menus, services are created in a few clicks
through drag and drops. Another click and all your services can be
provisioned in Service Manager ready for a live testing phase.
Service Designer Suite is widely used by telecom operators and
wireless application developers. The tool comes with 2 softwares,
namely:
SDS
>> A graphical service designer
SDS is based on a graphical representation of the services,
facilitates value-added services development by providing an
intuitive, graphical design interface for DSTK (Dynamic SIM Toolkit)
services. This tool aims at prototyping and developing services
graphically by using pre-defined shapes organized to build the
service scenario.
The services are indeed based on STK pro-active commands. A shape
representing each pro-active command can be fetched and drag 'n'
dropped on a working zone to build your services step by step. This
way of developing avoids having to acquire knowledge or expertise on
the xml language to create services.
The access to the language is nevertheless possible to enable export
service optimization when the service designer has acquired the
correct level of expertise.
The graphical way of service developing allows also creating
enhanced service manipulating variables, tracking counters,
plug-ins, and distant pages access.
SDK

Service testing on simulated and real environment
Using the SDK simulation technology, you can test your S@T
Browsing service offers without the need of the expense and
complexity to configure network equipment.
SDK contains everything you need to test and, if necessary, to
adapt S@T Browsing service offer. Service testing is possible on a
simulated environment on your laptop. All the service solution
components are simulated or emulated within a Windows OS
environment.
End-to-end simulation environment in SDK:
- Card Simulator - UICC simulation
- Handset Simulator - mobile phone simulation
- On-line Service Gateway, SMSC Simulator & 03.48 OTA
formatter - enable simulation of OTA service update
- Web server (Tomcat) - to simulate content provider
Once the service has been tested in the windows environment, it
can be provisioned in Gemalto LinqUs Service Manager to be tested in
the final environment.
>> Card Toolbox
SDK allows accessing in any SIM card and analyze the installed
SIM card services. All services present in the card can be displayed
and analyzed. In card toolbox, user can update, scan and test a
Service Engine applet on a real card.
