Gemalto .NET SDK
Gemalto's .NET SDK enables developers to create, debug, test and
load applications for Gemalto .NET v2/v2+ smart cards using a set of tools
integrated within Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET environment. Full
programming functionality is provided within the integrated development
environment to streamline the development process. The SDK leverages
enhancements to Visual Studio (VS) .NET, making it easy to integrate smart
card applications with other .NET based technologies such as Smart
Clients, ASP.NET Web Services, etc.
SDK components
- Smart Card .NET Framework, with an on-card and an off-card
component. It is added to the base .NET Framework that is the only mandatory
prerequisite you must have in your computer before installing SDK
- Card Explorer: The visual tool, that allows you to load,
remove and execute applications from the card
- Documentation: Three documents provided, formatted as Help files
- .NETSmartCardOverview.chm: Available through the help menu of
the card explorer
- .NETSmartCardFramework.chm: Documentation on the on-card framework
- .NETSmartcardClientAPI.chm Documentation on the off-card framework
- Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Plug In (*) : Adds the
Card Explorer tool as a plug in in VS .NET 2003, 2005 or 2008
- Templates for on-card and off-card applications (*): They
become available in VS .NET after setup
(*) Microsoft Visual Studio .NET (2003,2005 or 2008) must be
pre-installed. Visual Studio is not required to use the Card
Explorer
Other tools provided with the Kit:
- NANT scripting support for Smart Card for automating regular
tasks
- Merge Module ready to use for Setup of off-card applications
- Examples of applications available in the program folder
- Update manager to check for latest update of the SDK
System requirements
- Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP
SP2, Vista, Seven, Server 2008
- Microsoft .NET Framework versions 1.1 or 2.0
- Integrates with Visual Studio .NET 2003 (XP only), 2005
and 2008.
How to get the .NET SDK, training support and documentation?
- The .NET SDK software is available free of charge and
can be downloaded in the Download / Development menu
at the upper left of this page. Two webcasts are also
available at the same place that provide a first level of
training of the .NET SDK.
- The associated SDK documentation is the .NET Integration
Guide. This document can be downloaded from the Download
/ Technical doscument menu.
- If needed, samples of .NET cards and smart card readers
can be purchased separetely from the Gemalto webstore
