smart card design, while offering the end-user the choice of serial or USB
connection.by inserting the appropriate cable.
New Transparent Design

increase the cost of production. Gemalto removes both of these issues by providing a fully
transparent reader that makes the most your smart card design. By avoiding
graphical reader personalization, PC Twin allows you to use the smart
card as a promotional tool, bringing down all overall cots. Ergonomic and

An intelligent approach
Companies deploying a smart card based solution face the problem of knowing which type of PC connection the end-user needs, either Serial or USB.
PC Twin overcomes this problem by being compliant with both standards and
can be provided with either serial or USB cables depending on customers need.

The PC Twin family is based on Gemalto?
PC Core
® hardware and firmware, which means it can handle all types of ISO7816- compatible smart
cards without compatibility problems. It is user-friendly, and operating or using it
requires no technical expertise. The PC Twin family will happily blend with all
main environments (Windows ® 98, 2000, Xp, Vista, Linux & MacOS X), all types of
card, and most
makes of computer. It will readily adapt to new smart-card services, as they become
available.
The PC Twin has successfully passed the Microsoft Windows
Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL)
test session and is eligible for the "Designed for Microsoft Windows" logo for
both Windows 2000, Xp and Vista.
The PC Twin has got the EMVCo letter of approval
( # 11607 0103 400 20 LGA) is listed as an EMV Level 1 compliant 4.0 device in the
EMVCo
web site.
The PC Twin has successfully passed the Compliance program of
