Algeria’s national health insurance authority for non-salaried workers joins the CHIFA program

The national health insurance authority for non-salaried workers, CASNOS, has joined the CHIFA health insurance e-card scheme piloted by the CNAS (the Algerian national health insurance authority for salaried workers). The CNAS personalization center in Algiers will ensure the production of cards for workers affiliated to the CASNOS scheme.

With more than 110,000 e-cards personalized each week, the deployment of this unique program is proceeding in compliance with planned deadlines.

The new CHIFA system is already in use nationwide in 48 local government areas or wilayas. 13,000 practitioners identify themselves using a USB key equipped with a microprocessor and the milestone of 20 million electronic invoices was reached at the end of 2010.
