Gemalto Protector provides four different modules to back-up, synchronize and restore any type of personal data on a mobile phone:

• SIM phonebook backup to maximize market reach
• Handset phonebook backup to meet customers‘ expectations
• Calendar and Tasks backup to extend the service beyond the phonebook
• Multimedia content backup such as photos, videos or ringtones

With more than 1000 handsets certified and tested, Gemalto runs a strong dedicated Device On-Boarding and Client R&D program to continuously extend the device support base for latest mobile phone operating systems and platforms, as well as new media types.

We have reference tested and certified over 700 mobile phones equipped with a native SyncML Client for backup and restore of PIM data (Contacts, Calendar and Tasks). Additionally the On-Boarding program ensures support for Over-the-Air Configuration.

> Gemalto Device Client Suite
Over 450 Smartphones and Feature Phones are also supported for backup of additional Mutimedia file types with the Gemalto Device Client Suite.

After the second network connection, for example, the service can be promoted automatically on the mobile screen in. In one click the user can access the service and then launch automatic configuration settings for that handset.

With Gemalto Protector solution, SIM and handset content are back-up in a single thread. No need to execute two separate back-up operations. We have unified the two services to protect your entire mobile phonebook in one single operation.
