OTA SIM maintenance protects your QoS

When a national regulation authority deploys a new nationwide numbering plan, it is of the utmost importance to make these changes totally transparent for the subscriber, with no impact on their customer service experience. This was the challenge facing AIS, Thaïland's largest mobile operator. The shift from a 9-digit to a 10 digit dialling system threatened to make the SMS service unavailable. To address this, AIS set-up an efficient SIM based solution protecting its subscriber's quality of service within a 3 month lead-time .

Phonebook back up solutions designed to attract customers and cut churn

The Moroccan wireless market experienced an exponential growth. On this booming market Méditel is pursuing its differentiation strategy. After having deployed a 3G network, Meditel is the first North African operator to launch a phonebook back-up service allowing its subscribers to back-up their contact's details and thus protect themselves against the consequences of a phone loss or theft. This new service aimed both to attract new subscribers and fight against churn.

Increase your voice and data ARPU

Is it possible to assess the business value brought by the SIM and its applications? For many operators the SIM cards and the related applications are a genuine source of revenue allowing an ARPU increase.
€5 to €10: it is the consolidated and documented value of all the SIM based applications, either to better manage the network access and the voice billing or to better introduce and present new value added services or better protect subscriber's personal data.

Add to the SMS channel an IP based communication channel, more powerfull and faster to Over The Air download larger volumes of data to the USIM, is an ancient requirement of the SIM industry already standardized. A major step has been done last month with the ETSI and SIMAlliance sponsorship to demonstrate the end-to-end interoperability of a "fast data transfer over IP using BIP and CAT-TP", involving a 3-party program for cards, mobiles and real life infrastructure for USIM access OTA.
