Smart Video Card uses the same range of chips as a basic Gemalto SIM card product.
Gemalto is in charge of mastering and replicating of the content of Smart
Video Card. The mini-discs are pre-recorded with the provided content in the
standards of DVD industry, offering respective quality of the product and its
playability.
The DVD capacity is expressed in bytes. The overage capacity of SVC optical disc
is 100 mega bytes (100MB). It represents about 10 minutes of video content,
depending on the compression.
The source data for the discs will need to be pre-mastered as described below
and submitted for mastering in one of the formats listed below.
Mini-Disc Application Formats
We can master any of the following application formats for SVC Mini-Disc.
Pre-mastering work will require Operator’s validation prior to mastering (Exactly like an artwork design of a standard SIM card would require customer’s validation before launching the whole printing process)
The optical disc of SVC is compatible with all types of dvd players and
readers except slot-in ones (such as players in the cars or in Mac PC, they
represent a small percentage of the total market of DVD drives).
