Industry-first M2M Cat.1 LTE module for
Highly Efficient 4G optimized for IoT


Gemalto’s ELS31 is the industry-first LTE Cat.1 wireless module to revolutionize highly efficient 4G LTE connectivity tailored for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The new Cinterion® M2M module features power-optimized performance and speeds of up to 10Mbit/s download and 5Mbit/s uplink which optimizes the overall cost for IoT applications. This makes it an ideal solution for IoT applications such as metering, tracking and tracing, fleet management and mHealth that require the longevity and reliability of LTE in the decades ahead as 2G and 3G networks phase out.

The unique and stable Cinterion module form factor of ELS31 supports an easy migration between existing and future standards. Currently, this form factor is supported in Gemalto 2G/3G modules. A potential migration to future standards is foreseen, LTE lower categories (e.g. Cat.M1/Cat.NB1) is supported in compatible modules.
