Austin, TX, June 11, 2012 - Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), the world leader in digital security, and nAppliance Networks are launching a new bundled strong authentication solution for the North American market. Gemalto’s Protiva software will be preloaded on the nAppliance hardware security platform, to create a fully integrated plug-and-play authentication appliance for easy installation and configuration.
A complete step-by-step menu (“wizard-based”) will take IT professionals through an easy setup which connects all components of the security device to the existing infrastructure in minutes. Traditional solutions require configuration of each individual component and can require hours for deployment. The turnkey solution makes it possible for businesses of any size to easily deploy a hardened and secure two-factor authentication solution, combining something that the user knows with something that the user possesses, such as a token or smart card.
IT professionals at corporate and government organizations are increasingly emphasizing the need to protect users and data from today’s smarter and more determined cyber intruders. Implementing strong authentication significantly strengthens the fabric of a layered security approach leveraging additional factors of protection.
“A fully integrated hardware and software solution will help minimize deployment time, optimize support and maintenance costs, and ease staff training and man hours,” said Tom Flynn, vice president of Online Authentication for Gemalto North America. “IT managers can now quickly build a sophisticated security solution without additional software installation or heavy customization.”
“Our partnership with Gemalto allows us to offer a strong multi-factor solution that perfectly complements our Microsoft security and remote access platforms,” said Robert Keith, chief technology officer, nAppliance Networks.
